Saltgator Playbook: Multi-Color Injection
Multi-Color Injection Instructions: Inject different colored materials into the mold either sequentially or simultaneously to achieve visually stri...

For decades, soft plastic molding has been locked away in industrial factories—requiring immense space, heavy investment, and complex, often hazardous, operations.
Saltgator breaks that mold. This comparison highlights the essential shift we deliver: transforming a factory-exclusive process into a safe, simplified, and efficient tool that belongs right next to your 3D printer.
Your idea should not be delayed by your tools.
The Saltgator system is engineered for maximum workflow velocity. By seamlessly integrating the use of accessible 3D printed molds with our rapid, one-button injection cycle, we eliminate the friction points of long lead times, external mold costs, and extended curing waits, allowing you to validate designs in minutes, not weeks.
Safety should never be a trade-off for performance.
Traditional soft molding methods involve dangerous open heating, toxic fumes, and manual handling that requires heavy safety gear. Saltgator eliminates these health risks with its fully sealed chamber and BASF-certified, non-toxic materials, guaranteeing a 100% desktop-safe environment where your focus remains entirely on creation, not complication.
Traditional open-heating PVC releases toxic gases. Our material uses BASF's advanced plasticizers, validated by multiple EU and US agencies as non-toxic and non-carcinogenic.
While 3D printers are great for rigid parts, SALTGATOR shines in making soft, ergonomic components. Together, they form a complete product development solution.
Our built-in recycling mechanism allows leftover or damaged soft plastics to be remelted and reused—saving money, cutting waste, and supporting sustainability.
SALTGATOR started with a small group of hobby anglers and garage tinkerers, living between Texas and Hong Kong. We're engineers by trade, but when we're off the clock, we're out with our rods chasing fish. Fishing is our escape.
But the more we fished, the more we started dreaming about the perfect soft bait: something we could actually tailor to our style, that worked in different waters, and didn't break the bank. Naturally, we started tinkering. We tried existing injection tools—too expensive, too clunky, or just plain unsafe. Then we turned to 3D printing... Nope. The material jammed constantly, and even when the print worked, the bait was too stiff and split right at the layers.
That's when it hit us: If we wanted the right gear, we had to build it ourselves. So we did.
An engineer by training and a passionate angler at heart, Louis is the visionary behind SALTGATOR. Based in Texas, he bridges real-world engineering with maker needs, leading the project from concept to functional reality. From core hardware design to material R&D, Louis is the driving force behind the tech that powers SALTGATOR.
Jason is a hands-on product builder and long-time DIY enthusiast. Based in Hong Kong, he brings big ideas to life — managing SALTGATOR’s product roadmap, defining user experience, and coordinating across teams to ensure every feature solves a real user need.
For Jason, great tools should be powerful and playful — and that belief shapes everything he builds.
