Play Mode: Multi-Part Bonding

1. Instructions

Multi-part bonding involves assembling multiple injection-molded soft-gel parts to create larger, segmented, and more complex structures. This method supports two main approaches:

Method 1: Self-Bonding with Soft-Gel

Use uncured soft-gel material as a “structural adhesive” by applying it to the bonding area. Thanks to its natural fluidity and tackiness, the material forms a seamless connection after cooling and curing.

  • Recommended material hardness: 0A–40A, with strong adhesion and good flowability
  • Tips: Ensure bonding surfaces are clean and oil-free; let sit for 3–5 minutes after injection to cure
  • Applications: Modular connections, tubing joints, structural linking, creative assemblies

Method 2: Adhesive Bonding

Use PVC-compatible adhesives (such as solvent-based PVC glue or toy-safe adhesive) to bond multiple cooled soft-gel parts afterward.

  • Suitable for higher-hardness parts or reinforcement repairs
  • After applying glue, leave for 30–60 minutes to fully cure
  • Useful for bonding dissimilar materials, offset structures, or encapsulating complex assemblies

Key Advantages

  • Glue-free bonding: Soft-gel’s thermal adhesion allows strong connections without additional glue
  • Versatile combinations: Supports offset assembly, modular builds, and multi-segment continuous structures
  • Flexible operation: Enables on-site instant bonding or post-process adhesive assembly
  • Greater creative space: Breaks mold size limits to build larger or multi-functional components

Material Recommendations

  • Best to use 0A–40A soft-gel as bonding medium for superior flowability and adhesion
  • Keep bonding areas clean, dry, and free from dust or grease
  • When using adhesives, pair with ABS, PP, PVC, or other hard parts with natural bonding properties for stronger connections

🎨 Application Examples

  • 🤖 Pneumatic Bionic Muscle Structures: Connect multiple soft-gel tubes into a complete “pneumatic muscle” system
  • 🧩 Modular Assemblies: Combine multiple small molded parts into large structural models
  • 🎯 Soft-Gel Toys/Building Blocks: Such as detachable squish toys, bumpers, or interlocking pieces
  • 🛠 Repair or Reinforcement: Ideal for multi-material assemblies or strengthening replacement parts

Gum Mold Play Mode

  • Pre-print the gum mold and accessories (use PETG or other heat-resistant materials for the gum mold; no specific material required for teeth)
  • Prepare 0A raw material, PVC pigments, and PVC adhesive
  • Use Saltgator to inject the gum mold; after cooling, obtain the soft-gel gum model
  • Trim off excess edges from the gum model with tools
  • Place the pre-printed teeth into the gum slots and apply PVC adhesive to fix them
  • Wait for the PVC adhesive to cure, resulting in a complete gum-and-tooth model

Pneumatic Gripper Play Mode

  • Pre-print the mold and its accessories (recommended: PETG or other heat-resistant materials). Note: the gripper requires two mold pieces.
  • Prepare 20A raw material (20A or 40A is recommended for best results), PVC pigment, and PVC adhesive.
  • Use Saltgator to inject the pneumatic gripper mold. After cooling, you will obtain a soft pneumatic gripper model.
  • Trim off excess edges from the gripper model using tools.
  • Use PVC adhesive to bond the two mold pieces together to form a single pneumatic gripper.
  • Repeat the above steps to make three pneumatic grippers. Then use PVC adhesive to attach the grippers to the corresponding positions on the accessories.
  • Wait for the PVC adhesive to cure, and you will have a complete pneumatic gripper model.
