[Still Curious?]Find Answers in Our FAQ or Talk to Our Team.

Absolutely. SALTGATOR is designed for makers—our system works with 3D-printed molds made from PLA, PETG, or resin. You can design your own or use pre-made files from our Mold Library.

We offer a dedicated platform: moldlibrary.saltgator.com, where you can freely explore, download, remix, or share 3D mold files for SALTGATOR. It’s open to all and built for creativity.

Yes, you can try third-party materials like plastisol or other soft thermoplastics. Just note that heating temps and safety may vary. For best results and guaranteed performance, we recommend our SoftGel formula.

We currently offer three levels of hardness: soft, medium, and hard. You can mix or swap between them depending on your application—from soft lures to cosplay grips.

Choose SOFT for ultra-soft gels and squishy prototypes; MEDIUM for flexible seals, soft grips, and art toys & decor; and HARD for impact-resistant protective gear, gaskets, and structural O-rings.

No. Our formula is 100% free of isocyanates and polyurethane components, making it a safe choice for creators who suffer from urethane allergies.

Yes, once fully thermally cured, SALTGATOR SoftGel is chemically inert and non-irritating for skin contact. However, it is NOT food-grade or medical-grade.

Yes. We’ll provide full nozzle dimension specs so you can design molds that fit perfectly. You can also use pre-aligned mold case options for convenience.

No—SALTGATOR is not built for rigid plastics. It's optimized for soft, flexible materials. However, you can embed rigid parts into your molds and inject SoftGel around them for hybrid results.

3D printing soft objects is slow and limited in material softness. SALTGATOR allows you to inject ultra-soft to semi-rigid materials quickly, consistently, and with better finish. Plus, our SoftGel is reusable.

Yes. Our sealed chamber keeps everything tidy. After use, the leftover SoftGel cools and solidifies—just pull out the residue as a single piece. No water or chemical cleaning required.

Yes! SALTGATOR is designed with recyclability in mind. You can reheat and reuse SoftGel multiple times without toxic fumes or material breakdown.

After remaking my mold model and putting more clamps on. I finally got the steps down to making lures.

Os Trigonum

Was able to successfully make these baos for my kids as a test using the mold library. With mica powder. The above quirks were only issues I hit. Hopefully support will have some idea if the glass issue is related to material making it passed the plunger and turning to waste. We’ll see!

The SaltGator Softgel Injection Molding System

Hey y'all! I just got my Saltgator injection molding system.

Hi, just thought I would share my first injection with SG. We've had ours for about 2weeks, well worth the wait. I teach advanced manufacturing and electronics to yr9/ yr10 students in Qld Australia. The SG, inconjuction with our 3d printers, is going to prove a valuable tool for demonstrating sustainable rapid prototyping. I made the mold about 12months ago in preparation for the SG. The rims are 3d printed, placed in the mold and the rubber injected onto the rims to form the tyre. The wheel assembly is for our RC Land yacht project. The students are talked to design and prototype a radio control land yacht. Unfortunately, the SG arrived a week too late before the project finished. We will enjoy our 2 SGs. Cheers

Got my first successful result. Kudos to the saltgator team after the first unit I received was a dud. They were quick to send a replacement and the second one works! So excited to make my own molds and create soft items now! For a test I used one of the included molds which honestly I LOVE they included because the first thing you want to do when you get a new toy is play with it . I used a glow in the dark pink powder and purple glitter. Charging it in sunlight now to see how strong the glow will be.

Unboxing and first use video shot just gotta get time to edit and post it. Took me a couple tries to get a good result but third time was a charm.

I preordered this 3 months ago and received it the other day. It only included the machine and one softgel, instead of the add on soft gels. That's okay because this supposedly works with 3rd party plastisol. I have only tested the "soft" gel, and it worked wonderfully! There is definitely a learning curve especially with purging the starting material and injecting the mold but it's quick to learn. I don't like the fumes it produces but that's to come with every plastisol. I assume this machine keeps it to a minimum.I can't wait to start creating my own mold with petg and incorporating them into my prints. Clean up is easy and reusing solidified gel is a breeze. Thank you saltgator for the fast shipment! I look forward to the many projects that lie ahead.

Fast, clean, flexible

I start with SALTGATOR provided molds, then design my own custom grommet for electrical connectors in sheet metal. The results? Fast, clean, flexible parts made right on my bench.
